Shilajit is found as a sticky resin as part of rocks at high snow, high altitude himalayan region. It develops naturally over centuries from slow decomposition of organic matter. Also known as black bitumen, Asphaltum or mineral pitch, the purest form is derived through a lengthy process of purification of the resin from the rocks. Ayurveda classifies shilajit as destroyer of weakness and conqueror of mountains, as it contains more than 84 trace minerals and a excellent source of fulvic acid.
